Homebuyer Education Initiative
HomeToday is a simple, step-by-step educational resource designed to help individuals understand how to become successful homeowners. HomeToday seminars are conducted monthly and consist of four two hour seminar sessions and a one to one credit counseling session.
The SPDC is a certified City of Columbus Homebuyer Education Agency and upon completion of the seminars a certificate is awarded for eligibility for down payment assistance. Since 2003 the SPDC has enrolled more than 1,000 participants in its seminars and approximately 200 are currently homeowners. The HomeToday program is a collaborative partnership with Third Federal Savings and Loan.
